According to this Security Expert, Self-Custody Starts With Usability

There's a certain kind of credibility that comes from security experts. We sat with Arabdha from Halborn, the biggest cyber security company in the blockchain space, to talk self-custody. We weren't just getting an unboxing, we were getting an honest perspective from someone who sees the entire security landscape, every day, from the outside in.

"Not Your Keys, Not Your Cheese"

Arabdha has been in crypto since 2017. She's watched hype cycles come and go, seen exchanges collapse, and spent years helping companies secure the TVL sitting across the market.

Her advice hasn't changed much since she first entered the space. Do your own research and vet where you put your money. Arabdha believes self-custody is here to stay and will only get bigger.

But there’s one major blocker: usability.

The Adoption Problem Nobody Talks About Enough

One of my favorite moments in our conversation was about parents. We share the mission to onboard our parents into crypto, and Arabdha admitted she hasn't gotten there yet with her own family.

The reason? Usability.

"It requires a lot of self-educating and research. It's not the same as going to a bank and opening an account." Friction is the real barrier to self-custody.

It's a problem the industry has been slow to solve. Most hardware wallets were built by and for people who were already deep in the space. The assumption was that users would figure it out.

We handed her Ryder One. Her experience on the unboxing: "Easy, seamless, really sleek."

The Future of Self-Custody

Arabdha said it best: the world is finally waking up to crypto in a serious way. Regulation is here and institutional adoption is real. The stakes have never been higher. The tools people use to protect their assets matter more than ever.

Self-custody is the responsible default, enabled by hardware that meets people where they are, not for the “ideal situation”.

That's what we're building with Ryder One.
