Our new update is live but our focus stays the same: to bring the best self-custody experience to our users. And today we are releasing Ryder OS 1.6.0 and App version 1.5.0 to bring two significant features: import seed phrase and swaps.
👉 Wondering how to update your Ryder OS and App? Follow our update guide here.
Import your existing wallet into Ryder One (and add TapSafe on top)
This is a big deal. You can now upgrade your seed phrase by backing it up with Recovery Tags or Contacts.
How it works: if you already have a wallet, Ryder One now lets you import your existing 12- or 24-word secret recovery phrase directly into the device. After importing, you can add TapSafe backups to this existing wallet. It means that your seed phrase, Recovery Tags and Recovery Contacts are all compatible with each other. It's like having a seed phrase upgrade, or a "backup for your seed phrase."
Here’s a quick video that outlines the entire process of importing your seed phrase and backing it up using Recover Tags.
You can find more details on how TapSafe works on our new TapSafe website: ryder.id/pages/tapsafe
Ryder Swap: trade across chains, right from your wallet
No more switching between apps to trade. You can now swap assets across chains directly from your Ryder app.
How it works: Ryder Swap finds you cost-effective routes across supported networks, so you get the best deal without leaving the app. No third-party DEX to connect, no extra steps. Just pick your assets, confirm on your Ryder One, and you're done.
Powered by Swaps.xyz.
See below the video showing the swap experience in action:
Randomized passcode keyboard
Your PIN just got harder to spy on. Ryder One now shuffles the passcode keypad every time you unlock.
Why it matters: with a fixed layout, someone watching over your shoulder can easily track your finger movements and guess your PIN. A randomized keypad means the same PIN never looks the same twice. Small detail, big privacy win.
General bug fixes and performance improvements
As always, we've squashed bugs and improved performance across the firmware and app to make everything feel snappier and more reliable.
Halborn security audit: completed ✅
Security isn't just a feature, it's the foundation. We're proud to share that Ryder One's firmware has completed a security audit by Halborn, a leading blockchain security firm trusted across the industry.
