April was a milestone month for us. Here's what happened.

We Won the Red Dot Product Design Award

Ryder One won the Red Dot Product Design 2026 award, one of the most respected design recognitions in the world. It's a validation of something we've believed since day one: that security hardware doesn't have to feel intimidating. It can be beautiful, intuitive, and something you're proud to own.

Product Updates: Swap, Verify, and Upgrade Your Set Up

Ryder Swap: trade across chains, right from your wallet

Guess what? We’ve made it so you no longer have to switch between apps to trade. You can now swap assets across chains directly from your Ryder app.

How it works: Ryder Swap finds you cost-effective routes across supported networks, so you get the best deal without leaving the app. No third-party DEX to connect, no extra steps. Just pick your assets, confirm on your Ryder One, and you're done.

Import Seed Phrase Feature

This is a big deal. You can now upgrade your seed phrase by backing it up with Recovery Tags or Contacts.

How it works: if you already have a wallet, Ryder One now lets you import your existing 12- or 24-word secret recovery phrase directly into the device. After importing, you can add TapSafe backups to this existing wallet. It means that your seed phrase, Recovery Tags and Recovery Contacts are all compatible with each other. It's like having a seed phrase upgrade, or a "backup for your seed phrase."

Here’s a quick video that outlines the entire process of importing your seed phrase and backing it up using Recover Tags.

Verify Your Receiving Address on Device

We shipped a new feature this month: address verification directly on Ryder One.

Before this, confirming a receive address meant trusting what your phone screen showed you. Now you can verify it on the device itself, where no app, browser extension, address poisoning, or malicious software can interfere. This matters because address-substitution attacks are real and growing. An attacker replaces a copied address with their own during a paste. You send funds to the wrong place and have no way to recover them.

With address verification on Ryder One, the device becomes the source of truth. What you see on the screen is what you're receiving to. Full stop.

Kαλημέρα Ελλάδα! We've entered Greece!

🫣 We also got involved in our first scandal

Jokes aside, we're not actually involved in a scandal. We do love the clickbait though!

Nish Was Featured on a Podcast

Our marketing lead Nish sat down for a conversation about self-custody, the story behind Ryder, and where the hardware wallet space is heading. Worth a listen if you want to hear the thinking behind what we build and why we build it that way.

Coming in May: Ryder Earn

We're putting the finishing touches on Ryder Earn, our staking feature. The goal is simple: earn yield while staying fully self-custodial. Your keys never leave the device. Your funds never touch a custodian.

We built it for people who want their crypto to work harder without giving up control to do it. More details coming soon.

April set the foundation. May is where it gets interesting.
