How to back up your wallet with TapSafe

TapSafe splits your backup into encrypted pieces — no single piece can access your wallet on its own.
If you lose your Ryder One without a backup in place, you lose access to your wallet. TapSafe is what ensures that never happens — it creates encrypted backup pieces spread across your Recovery Tag and your phone, so you can always recover on a new device.
Make sure you have your Recovery Tag (included in the box) and your phone with the Ryder app installed and open.
In the Ryder app, go to [VERIFY: Settings → Backup & Recovery → Set up TapSafe].
When prompted, hold your Recovery Tag flat against the back of your Ryder One. The device writes an encrypted piece of your backup to the tag. This takes about 5 seconds.
Your phone simultaneously stores a second encrypted piece in your iCloud or Google Drive — this happens automatically in the background.
The app confirms that your backup is complete. Your recovery status will show [VERIFY: Protected] in the backup screen.
Each Recovery Tag counts as 50% of what's needed to recover your wallet. Your phone covers the other 50%. You need 100% to recover.
Tap a new Recovery Tag on your Ryder One to create an additional backup. Store extra tags in different locations — your home, office, or a safe deposit box — so you're always within reach of a recovery option if one tag is lost or damaged.
Recovery Contacts are trusted people who hold an additional encrypted piece of your backup on their phone. Each contact counts as 25% — meaning 2 contacts can substitute for a Recovery Tag.

The only crypto wallet you can install on a crowded subway.
Set it up in less than 60 seconds and just tap your phone to send, swap, and recover.
