The hardware wallet that finally
solves the seed phrase problem.

$4.04 billion stolen in 2025. Millions of Bitcoin lost forever. The industry has been selling the same broken solution for a decade. Ryder One changes that.

The scale of the problem

Crypto security is broken.
The numbers prove it.

Between lost seed phrases and theft, the industry is losing value at a scale most people don't fully grasp. And the root cause is always the same: a system that requires perfect humans in an imperfect world.

$4.04B
Stolen in crypto fraud in 2025 alone (PeckShield, 2025)
3.7M BTC
Lost forever due to forgotten or inaccessible private keys since Bitcoin launched (chainalysis, 2025)
56.6%
Of crypto users cannot correctly explain what a seed phrase is (ACM, 2025)
Why existing solutions fall short

The industry has been selling
the same flawed solution for a decade.

Write down 24 words on paper. Store it safely. Don't lose it. Don't let anyone see it. Every major hardware wallet asks you to do this perfectly, forever. Let's be real. This isn't "top" security, it's wishful thinking.

The screen problem
Some wallets skip the display to keep costs down.
That means signing transactions without seeing what you're actually approving. A malicious contract looks identical to a legitimate one. You won't know until it's too late.
The seed phrase problem
Most wallets still rely on a single piece of paper as your only recovery option.
Lose it, damage it, or let the wrong person see it, and your crypto is gone forever. No customer support, no reset, and no backup to the backup.
The data problem
Hardware security means nothing if the company holding your personal data gets breached.
Your name, address, and purchase history can be exposed even when your keys are safe. That information can make you a target in ways that go beyond crypto.

Recovery that makes sense

TapSafe: No single point of failure. Ever.

Traditional wallets use a single seed phrase. One piece of paper. One point of failure. Lose it, and your crypto is gone forever. No customer service. No reset. Gone.

TapSafe uses Shamir Secret Sharing, a cryptographic technique invented by Adi Shamir (the "S" in RSA encryption). Your master key is split into encrypted fragments. Any single fragment is useless without the others.

1
Recovery Tag
A coin-sized NFC tag that ships with every Ryder One. Store it in a safe, a safety deposit box, or with a trusted family member. Alone, it's useless to an attacker.
2
Phone Backup
Stored on your device or encrypted in iCloud or Google Drive with AES-256. Even if someone compromises your cloud account, this fragment alone gives them nothing.
3
Recovery Contacts
Trusted people who hold a share of your backup data. They cannot see your wallet or funds. But together, they can help you recover if everything else is lost.

Real questions, real answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the cloud backup actually safe? What if someone hacks my iCloud?
The cloud fragment is encrypted with AES-256, the same standard used by banks and militaries. But more importantly, it's only one fragment of your key. Having it gives an attacker mathematically zero information without the other fragments. Cloud backup is also optional. You can use TapSafe with just your wallet and Recovery Tags.
It's not open source yet. How can I trust it?
Ryder completed a comprehensive third-party security audit with Halborn, one of the top blockchain security firms globally, in 2025. Open sourcing is coming soon, starting with the TapSafe algorithm and hardware schematics. Auditing before open sourcing is standard practice. Ledger and Tangem are still closed source, and people trust them with billions.
What about coins I hold that aren't supported yet?
Ryder currently supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Stacks, USDT, and USDC. These represent over 60% of the total crypto market cap. BNB, Ripple, Cardano, Avalanche, and others are actively in development. New chains ship as firmware updates, no new hardware needed.
Why not just get a cheaper wallet?
Some wallets have no screen, which means you sign transactions without seeing what you're approving. A malicious smart contract looks identical to a legitimate one. With a screen, you see exactly what you're signing and can stop immediately. That visibility is the difference between a good deal and a drained wallet.
What happens when the battery dies?
Place it on the wireless charging pad. It powers on and functions normally while charging. Your crypto is never locked out. The battery is rated for 500+ charge cycles, which works out to 10+ years of normal use. And as a last resort, any BIP-39 compatible wallet can restore your funds using your seed phrase.
It's new. Should I wait for it to mature?
The hardware runs on the Infineon EAL6+ chip, battle-tested for years in passports and payment cards. NFC encryption is a solved problem. What's new is how Ryder combines these proven technologies. The Kickstarter shipped in 2024, the full market launch was 2025, and the software ships continuous updates based on community feedback.

The team

Built by people who felt
the problem firsthand.

Ryder started in 2022. The team survived on one-month runways, working nights and weekends, refusing to compromise on security or simplicity. In 2025, Tim Draper led a $3.2 million seed round.

"Most hardware wallets have a general-purpose processor that talks to the secure element. That creates an attack surface. We eliminated it. The button, the LED, and the secure element form a closed loop that nothing else can touch."

"We created Ryder because we experienced firsthand how fragile and intimidating self-custody can be. For too long, crypto has relied on seed phrases, a single piece of paper that could decide the fate of your entire wallet."
What the industry says

Trusted by people who know crypto security better than anyone.

"Ryder might be the first wallet I've seen to really nail the 'kill the seed phrase' idea."
"Ryder One solves a lot of the issues I've heard people have with self-custody. If you lose a piece of paper you hide between your bookshelf, you don't lose all your money."
"Ryder One's recovery model matches my nomadic lifestyle. I no longer have to choose between freedom and security."
"Ryder is making the simplest and secure hardware wallet in case you want total control over your Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies."

Your crypto deserves better than a piece of paper.

Ryder One is the first hardware wallet built for how people actually live. Tap to set up. Tap to transact. Never lose access again.
