How do I set up my Ryder One?
Setting up your Ryder One involves only three steps:
- Pair your Ryder One with your phone
- Create your wallet
- Back it up using your Recovery Tag and your phone
What if I lose my Ryder One wallet?
If you lose your Ryder One, you can recover it using your Recovery Tag or Recovery Contacts. It depends on how you've set up your recovery options.
Can I still see my seed phrase?
Yes. While TapSafe makes it unnecessary to write down or store your 24 words, Ryder One still lets you reveal your seed phrase in the device settings.
Is Ryder One open source?
Yes, Ryder One will be open source in 2025, with TapSafe Recovery permissively licensed. The source code will be opened gradually throughout the year. We’ll also invite third-party vendors to support TapSafe Recovery, much like many wallets support seed phrases today.
How does TapSafe Recovery work?
TapSafe Recovery uses Shamir Secret Sharing, an established algorithm that splits your backup into shares. These shares are securely saved on your Recovery Tag, phone, or Recovery Contacts.
