Ryder handles are here!
It comes as no surprise that with the growth of crypto, sub-communities are thriving. Various groups – from NFTs to DeFi – are growing within and outside main protocols, such as Stacks, and in all crypto communities.
Now more than ever, web3 is going social, and handles, or namespaces are an integral part of it. We’re working to fully realize the potential of web3 through on-chain identities, after the DeFi summer and NFT Bandwagon.
Ryder’s approach to on-chain identities is different. We’re more than just .btc or .eth, we’re leveraging the culture and community in crypto to establish handles as identity within the Stacks ecosystem and beyond.
This is why we are proud to announce that we’ve teamed up with your favorite communities – Megapont, CrashPunks, Satoshibles, Frens, Stackparrots, and Citycoins – to launch Ryder handles. These communities have chosen to work with us and we’re happy to collaborate with them. This marks the next step in crypto ownership, sharing and community.
Think of your handle, or community domains, as a traditional internet username. You use it to sign in to applications and with crypto, you can also use it to send and receive transactions. Plus, it means you can add some of your own personality to your crypto.
How do I use my Ryder Handle?
Your handles are registered through a smart contract on Stacks, secured by Bitcoin. In short, your handles are anchored on the Bitcoin Blockchain.
We’ve partnered with Xverse to support Ryder handles, so you can easily send and receive Bitcoin, Stacks, and NFTs with your favorite community handles in one place. You can also use a handle to log in to all applications within the ecosystem. If you’re curious to learn more about Ryder handles, check the FAQ.
The big question is, how do we empower these communities?
A portion of the handle sales goes back to our crypto communities, so they can fund the initiatives they believe in. By doing this, we uphold the values of crypto and hope to accelerate the development and adoption of web3. For example, a portion of a .mega sale is invested back into Megapont’s MegaDAO and the same goes for all the crypto communities we integrate. As we’ve always said; protocols are powered by communities.
Looking Beyond
Ryder handles are just the first step we’re taking towards empowering communities. The value it unlocks is enormous, from building a brand name for your NFTs, to enriching the DAO governance experience. Watch out for a dedicated blog on this one, there’s a lot to unwrap here.
We know you’re just as excited as we are. Make sure you grab your favorite community handles at handles.ryder.id before they’re gone.
